One of the most challenging auto races in the world is the “24 Hours of Le Mans.” Toyota has not won it yet but the team has big plans as they are now preparing for the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans!
How? They are planning to enter a very out-of-the-box hybrid car that has been likened to a Prius on steroids. The last time they entered Le Mans was in 1999 with quite an awesome car (as seen in the photo above) but didnt win. The team was victorious at the Tokachi 24-hour race which boosted their confidence. No specific details have been issued yet, but the team has assured that special capacitors and batteries will be installed for faster power supply and charging functions.
Toyota will be competing with turbo diesel cars from Audi who have been consecutive winners of Le Mans in 2006 and 2007.
